New team for Harvill Secker

<p>CCV, part of the Random House Group, has announced a new editorial team for Harvill Secker to be headed up by Liz Foley as the newly appointed publishing director.<br /><br />Foley joins Harvill Secker from Vintage, an imprint she joined in 2002 and where she has been editorial director since 2006. She will report to publisher Dan Franklin.<br /><br />Stuart Williams, Harvill Secker senior editor, is promoted to editorial director. Rebecca Carter, who was previously editorial director at Chatto, and more recently responsible for editing many major titles for the wider RHG, returns to commissioning as editor-at-large for Harvill Secker. They will both report to Foley.<br /><br />Alongside Liz, Stuart and Rebecca, Briony Everroad will continue to work as editor and Ellie Steel as editorial assistant.</p><p>Geoff Mulligan will be leaving his post as publishing director but will continue to edit a distinguished list of authors as a freelance editor to Harvill Secker. Mulligan has edited and published J M Coetzee, Louis de Berni&egrave;res, G&uuml;nter Grass, Howard Marks, Tim Parks, Fred Vargas, David Lodge, Joseph O&rsquo;Connor, Andre Brink, Umberto Eco, Eva Hoffman and Caryl Phillips.</p><p>CCV managing director, Richard Cable, said: &ldquo;I am extremely excited at the prospect of this new stage in the development of Harvill Secker.&rdquo;<br /><br />CCV publisher, Dan Franklin, said: &ldquo;Liz has been an excellent publisher at Vintage, especially launching and running the Vintage Classics list.
