A new sponsorship deal for the Women's Prize for Fiction, previously the Orange Prize, has been signed, with the identity of the sponsor set to be announced next week.
The prize's co-founder and honorary director Kate Mosse said the news, which was originally expected in late September, will be revealed on Tuesday (9th October). The 2013 judging panel is also to be revealed on that date.
Orange stepped down as title sponsor of the prize after this year's award on 30th May, after 17 years. Mosse said in July that 18 different companies had approached the award with a view to becoming the long-term sponsor. In August it was reported that Apple and Kobo had been among those in discussions to take on the sponsorship.
