Lucy Hale has been promoted to sales and marketing director at Hodder & Stoughton, a new role that brings all of its marketing, publicity and selling activities under one management.
Last month, Hodder & Stoughton's UK sales and trade marketing director Aslan Byrne moved to Headline, following the departure of UK and international sales director James Horobin for Simon & Schuster.
The publisher said: "Lucy has driven the publishing successes of recent years with incredible energy and flair, bringing her immense talents to the launching of many new careers including those of Jodi Picoult and Sophie Hannah and continuing to build sales of existing top authors including Stephen King, John Connolly and Jeffery Deaver."
Meanwhile, Catherine Worsley has been appointed head of the mass market business unit. The publisher said: "Catherine has done an excellent job over the past two years growing sales with supermarkets and WH Smith. In her new role she will oversee all the mass market accounts as well as working closely with editorial, and the other departments, to make the Hodder authors stronger."
