Press Desk is to rush out a book detailing the search for the schoolgirl Shannon Matthews later this month. Finding Shannon: The Inside Story by Richard Edwards is the first title to be released on the case and is written by Edwards, a senior reporter on the Yorkshire Evening Post. It will be published on 19th December in paperback and priced at £7.99.
The book follows the story, from the night she went missing to her discovery. The title has added insight as Edwards was the only news journalist that was granted access to the Matthews' family home. Edwards said: "None of the events that I have covered have been in the same league as the Shannon Matthews saga. I felt that such a staggering story deserved to be told, in full, by someone who was there from day one and who was privileged enough to be given the trust of the good people of Dewsbury Moor."
Finding Shannon was finished on the 4th December after Shannon’s mother, Karen Matthews, and Michael Donovan were both found guilty of kidnapping, false imprisonment and perverting the course of justice.
Press Desk is a new independent publisher based in Yorkshire. Finding Shannon is it first book. The book is being distributed by Gardners and Bertrams.
