Scribe UK has moved offices and made some staffing changes as it seeks to “put itself on a surer footing” going into the autumn.
The UK arm of Scribe has moved to 2 John Street, Clerkenwell, London WC1, a listed Georgian building overlooking Gray’s Inn Gardens which is “a short hop from Charles Dickens’ house.”
Coinciding with the move, Sarah Braybrooke has been promoted today to publicity and operations manager, replacing Rina Gill, Scribe's founding publicity and operations director who has decided “for personal reasons” to revert to a freelance PR role. She will hereafter manage selected Scribe UK PR campaigns as a consultant publicist.
A spokesperson said: “Scribe UK will always be immensely grateful to Rina for getting us up and running.”
Braybrooke will also manage the relationship between the London office and Scribe’s HQ in Melbourne, and between Scribe UK and Faber Factory Plus, along with her publicity responsibilities.
Meanwhile Molly Slight has been hired as Scribe’s publishing assistant this month, joining the company straight from the MA Publishing course at UCL. She will report to Braybrooke.
Philip Gwyn Jones will also be based at Scribe’s UK offices in his role as editor-at-Large of Scribe UK.
The company said: “Scribe UK is making some changes to put itself on a surer footing as it plans its autumn publications and initiates preparations for its spring 2015 publishing season, its first to focus on authors resident in the UK & Ireland.”
