Electric Monkey, Egmont’s YA imprint, has bought the UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, to a new series by US author Michael Grant.
The three-book series Front Lines is set during an alternative World War Two where young women are eligible for the draft. Rio Richlin and her friends are fighting not only Hitler’s army, but also a male-dominated society.
Fiction editor Stella Paskins, who acquired the rights from HarperCollins USA, said: “Tense, exciting and moving – this alternative World War Two drama is Michael Grant at his finest. He is the master of putting his characters under pressure and letting them slug it out for survival, demonstrating their best and their worst natures.”
Electric Monkey will publish the first book on 28th January 2016. Book two will follow in 2017 and book three in 2018.
Grant is the author of more than 150 books, including the Gone series, which is also published by Egmont.
