New judging line-up for Bookseller Awards

<p>Ottakar&#39;s founder James Heneage and children&#39;s author Anthony Horowitz have joined the judging panel for <em>The Bookseller</em> Retail Awards 2009.</p><p>They will be joined by Jo Howard, former chair of World Book Day and former W H Smith director; Damian Horner, founder of Mustoes advertising agency and publishing marketing consultant; Paul Smiddy, retail analyst at HSBC; and Tom Tivnan, features editor at <em>The Bookseller</em>. The panel will be chaired by Neill Denny, editor-in-chief of <em>The Bookseller</em>. </p><p>Denny said: &quot;In these tough times recognising the top talent in selling books is more important than ever and we can all learn from the best in the field. Retail skills matter more now than ever before.&quot;</p><p>Now in their fifth year, the awards categories are: independent bookseller, children&#39;s independent, children&#39;s bookseller, manager, general retailer, high street retailer, marketing campaign and bookselling company of the year. There will also be an outstanding contribution to bookselling award, which Heneage won in 2006.</p><p>Entries must be submitted by 12th June to Louise Lenzi, events manager, <em>The Bookseller</em>. Retailers may enter multiple categories, but one entry form per category is necessary. The awards are open to all retailers in the UK and Ireland.</p><p>The awards ceremony will take place on the 17th September at the Natural History Museum.
