New Holland has acquired UK rights to an authorised commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Peanuts comic strip.
Aruna Vasudevan at New Holland won the rights directly from the packagers. The book, which will be produced in co-operation with the Charles M. Schultz Museum, is scheduled for publication in September. It will be produced as a slip-cased edition priced at £30.
Steve Connolly at New Holland said: “It will looks spectacular and be a great gift or self purchase, especially for baby boomers like me who grew up on Snoopy, Charlie Brown and the rest of the characters.”
It will feature removable film cells, stickers, and booklets, as well as reproduction prints of Peanuts artwork ready for framing. The book is being written by Nat Gertler, and includes quotes from Schulz family members.
New Holland plans to formally announce the acquisition at the London Book Fair next week.
