Former astronaut Chris Hadfield is to publish a second book with Pan Macmillan.
You Are Here: Around the World in 92 Minutes will feature photographs from the International Space Station and is described as a “planetary photo tour”. It will also include “fun, fascinating commentary on life in zero gravity”.
Pan Macmillan's non-fiction publisher Jon Butler acquired UK and Commonwealth excluding Canadian rights to the book from Hadfield’s US publisher, Little, Brown and Company. The title is the follow-up to An Astronaut’s Guide to Life, released last year.
Butler said: “Chris Hadfield's first book delighted hundreds of thousands of readers around the world, and showed us space as we’d never seen it before. Chris’s new book turns his sharp-eyed, endlessly curious gaze on the planet we call home. Millions of people followed Chris’s Twitter feed from the ISS, and fell in love with his surprising, often breathtakingly beautiful photographs of the Earth from above."
He added that You Are Here collects together the best of Hadfield's images – most of which have never been seen – and "through Chris’s matchless ability to communicate the wonders of science, reveals to us why our cities, oceans, mountains and deserts look the way they do."
The title will be released this autumn.
