New film deal for Moyes' latest

Jojo Moyes' chart-topping novel The One Plus One (Penguin) has been optioned by Hollwood film studio New Line, with Moyes in line to write the script.

New Line, alongside MGM, is currently already developing Moyes' previous novel Me Before You (Penguin).

The book, titled One Plus One in the US, has been top of the UK Top 50 for two weeks, with the mass-market paperback selling just under 60,000 copies in the past month.

The One Plus One, originally published in February, centres around the single mother of two children, one who is bullied and the other who is a maths prodigy. When a once-in-a-lifetime educational opportunity crops up, the family, plus an obnoxious tech millionaire, head off an a cross-country road trip.

Hollywood Reporter said that no producers are yet attached to the project. New Line has produced other literary adaptions such as The Lord of the Rings film trilogy.
