Martin Neild has taken over as chairman of the board of trustees of the Chipping Norton Literary Festival, which has also become a registered charity.
The festival is now in its third year, and annually runs a series of events around the Cotswold town, partnering with Jaffé and Neale bookshop for books sales.
Neild, formerly Hodder & Stoughton chief executive and still a consultant to the Hachette Group, said he was hoping to grow the reputation of the festival in coming years.
He said: "I’m really looking forward to joining ChipLitFest and helping to establish it even more firmly as a major player in the annual festival calendar. The ChipLitFest team has achieved extraordinary success to date. The festival already punches well above its weight, and we are developing exciting plans for the future."
Lizzie Pickering, events manager for the Helen and Douglas House children's hospice has also joined the board to help develop the festival's fundraising, outreach and sponsorship.
The next festival will be held from 24th – 27th April 2014.
