The mother of murdered soldier Lee Rigby has written a book, to be published by Simon & Schuster.
Senior commissioning editor Kerri Sharp bought UK and Commonwealth rights to Lee Rigby: A Mother’s Story by Lyn Rigby from Robert Smith of Robert Smith Literary Agency.
Lee Rigby was killed in Woolwich in May 2013 by Islamic extremists.
The book, said Simon & Schuster, will be “Lyn Rigby's tribute to her son, telling his story not just as a soldier, but as a vibrant young man with a young son and a future that was so viciously taken from him”.
It will also “chart the two unfathomably difficult years Lyn has endured since his killing” and will contain exclusive accounts by the 'Angels of Woolwich' who assisted Lee Rigby in his last moments.
Simon & Schuster will publish in hardback in May 2015.
