Ali Muirden has resigned as the chair of the Audio Publishers Association (APA) after 11 years with the association.
She will step down from her role at the end of November with her successor yet to be announced. Muirden said she had chosen to leave the role because her digital download audiobook publishing company, Creative Content is "stepping up" its publishing programme. Muirden's "audio consultancy" work has also increased with new potential projects and clients in the pipeline.
Muirden said the role of chair was demanding on her time, so "sadly it had to be the one thing to drop to fit everything else in". She added: "I'm also resigning from the committee too as I think it's best to have a complete break. It's been 11 years with over half of that time spent as either chair or vice chair so it will be good for the APA to have someone new in the role."
Muirden left her role as audio publisher at Pan Macmillan last October after working at the publisher for 27 years. She set up Creative Content a year ago with actress Lorelei King.
