Nicola Morgan is to be the libraries director at the Arts Council.
Morgan is currently programme manager, sector improvement at the Museums, Libraries and Archives council, which winds up this autumn. She will take up her new post on 1st October.
Morgan commented: "I am looking forward to this exciting new chapter at the Arts Council, which is well-placed nationally to play a part and help take forward libraries' vital and enduring role in our communities in spreading reading, learning, and access to information."
Arts Council England said it was currently appointing "a number" of MLA staff into posts and would be recruiting further libraries roles in July, announcing the final integrated structure "in due course."
Two other members of the MLA have also been given new roles: Hedley Swain, director, programme delivery will take up the post of director, museums and renaissance. Charlotte Johns, currently renaissance programme coordinator at MLA, will take up the post of director, museums and investment at the Arts Council.
