Jo Fletcher Books has acquired three new novels by Alison Littlewood, including a sequel to the author’s Richard and Judy Book Club bestseller A Cold Season.
Publisher Jo Fletcher acquired world rights rights to A Cold Silence and two other books from Oli Munson at AM Heath.
A Cold Silence features Ben Cassidy from A Cold Season, who has been warned to stay away from his childhood home of Darnshaw by his mum Cass.
When his friend Jessica dies unexpectedly, Ben has no choice but to break his promise, as her death might be linked to the computer game called Acheron – a game he knows about and that his sister and friends have been playing.
As they delve deeper into Acheron, the players’ “good intentions begin to slip, morals begin to look suspect and some of them find themselves falling deeper into corruption”.
Ben could save them all, but the price for doing so might just be too high.
Fletcher said: “I’m thrilled to be able to continue working with Alison, who was not just one of my earliest acquisitions for JFB, but my first bestseller. I’m even more excited that the first book is A Cold Silence, the long-awaited sequel to her Richard & Judy Book Club pick A Cold Season – what could be better?”
A Cold Season was a Richard and Judy Book Club title in spring 2012. It has sold 28,806 copies through Nielsen BookScan.
Jo Fletcher Books, and imprint of Quercus, will publish A Cold Silence in September 2015 as an £8.99 paperback original.
