Hodder & Stoughton has extended its working relationship with Jeffery Deaver, signing a further three titles on top of the two as-yet-unpublished works. Deaver has been with Hodder since the UK paperback publication of The Lesson of Her Death in 1994.
Carolyn Mays, Hodder publisher, acquired the new titles, which comprise two stand-alone thrillers and a collection of short stories, for a six-figure sum via Vivienne Schuster of Curtis Brown.
She said: "I am delighted to have agreed a deal that should see us through to our twentieth year in partnership with Jeff, who is not only simply a brilliant writer, but also one of the most rewarding authors I have ever had the good luck to work with."
The first title, Edge, is due out in January 2011. The remaining two have not yet been scheduled, and currently have no title.
Hodder is due to publish a further two Deaver titles prior to this, however. The Burning Wire, featuring series character Lincoln Rhyme, is due out next summer, with another untitled work, this time featuring Kathryn Dance, expected a year later.
