Gateway, Orion's science fiction and fantasy e-book publisher, will be adding several well-known authors from Orbit, Hodder & Stoughton and Headline to its website.
Gateway is part catalogue site, part gateway to online retailers and part social network for readers who wish to discuss and recommend authors. Since its launch in 2011, it has gained a catalogue of almost 3,000 titles and over 200 authors.
It will now be adding a selection of authors from the Hachette UK Group, the Orion’s parent company, to its list, including Iain M Banks, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Robert Jordan. Other authors being added include David Gemmell, Jean M Auel and Terry Brooks.
Darren Nash, publisher of Gateway, said: “As well as adding wonderful new authors to the list, this expansion has also allowed Gateway to fill some major gaps in our existing Gateway authors' oeuvres – most notably, adding 2001: A Space Odyssey to Arthur C. Clarke's offering, The Left Hand of Darkness to Ursula K Le Guin's and some seminal works to our Robert A Heinlein listing – including Hugo-winners Starship Troopers, Stranger in a Strange Land and The Moon is a Harsh Mistress.”
The works from the newly added authors will go live on the Gateway site from today (Wednesday 11th February).
