More FitzGerald for Faber

Faber has acquired a new psychological thriller from Helen FitzGerald.

Viral follows twins Leah and Su, opposite personalities who travel together on a post-exams holiday to Magaluf. When a video of Su in a nightclub appears online and goes viral, she disappears, forcing their mother to intervene.

Editor Sarah Savitt acquired world rights from Philip Patterson at Marjacq Scripts.

Savitt said: "This is a rollercoaster thriller of sex, lies and viral video, and I think it’s the perfect vehicle for Helen’s talents – complex moral dilemmas, even more complex characters, and a dark humour which makes her stand out from her peers."

FitzGerald's latest novel, The Cry (Faber), was nominated for the Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year award.

Viral will be released in February 2016, following next novel The Exit in 2015.
