HarperFiction has signed a three-book deal with television presenter and author Fern Britton.
Kate Bradley, commissioning editor at HarperFiction, bought world English rights to three books in a deal with Luigi Bonomi of LBA.
Britton has previously published two books with HarperFiction, New Beginnings and The Holiday Home, with a third, A Seaside Affair, being released in May 2014. The books are set in a fictional Cornish village, Pendruggan.
She said: "The next three novels are gently brewing in my head. The first will feature the fishing families of Pendruggan and Trevay as they battle the sea and each other. I can't wait to get started."
Bradley said: "Fern is every publishers dream. Her books are simply joyous and the phrase “wish you were here” could have been coined with Fern’s books in mind – it’s like taking a wonderful seaside holiday with all of your best mates."
The first book of the new deal will be released in 2015.
