Walker Books UK has acquired world rights in two more titles in the range of graphic novels based on Anthony Horowitz' Alex Rider teen spy series.
Graphic novelist Antony Johnston will write the scripts for Scorpia and Ark Angel, which will be published in 2014 and 2015 respectively. According to Walker, sales of the graphic novel series now top over 70,000 copies.
Johnston said: "I'm delighted to be returning to Alex Rider . . . I’ve had many young readers demanding to know when the next graphic novel will be out, so I hope this news makes them as happy as it makes me!”
Manga Shakespeare comics artist Emma Vieceli also signed up to the series. She said: "I'm joining Alex as his adventures take some dark but exciting paths and that makes me very motivated to get drawing. I'm thrilled to be joining the team.”
Both Johnston and Vieceli signed a two-book deal. Johnston is represented by Sarah Such of Sarah Such Literary Agency, Viecelli by James Wills of Watson, Little Ltd.
