Michael Joseph will publish Mary Berry¹s autobiography this autumn.
M.d. Louise Moore bought world rights in the as-yet-untitled memoir from agent Felicity Bryan in a pre-emptive deal.
Moore said she was "very struck" listening to Berry's interview on BBC Radio 4's "Desert Island Discs" last year. "We all know Mary as our favourite cookery writer and presenter—she's been teaching the nation to cook for over 60 years. Yet few people know the professional and personal story behind her success. I am delighted she has agreed to write her story," she said.
Berry commented: "Writing this book has given me a wonderful opportunity to be able to go back and explore the stories of my life. It feels like the right time to be sharing these with a wider audience, which I am obviously delighted to do."
The book is promised to inspire by Berry's determination to achieve despite obstacles, while proving you can be at the pinnacle of your career in your 70s.
