Mitchell Beazley to serve Ghanaian cuisine

Mitchell Beazley has acquired writer and cook Zoe Adjonyoh’s début publication.

Senior commissioning editor Eleanor Maxfield bought world rights to Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen, a collection of Ghanaian food dishes, from Elise Dillsworth at the Elise Dillsworth Agency.

Maxfield said: "It's time for African cuisine to hit the publishing mainstream. Zoe's particular take on Ghanaian food, her exciting approach and inspirational work ethos make her a joy to work with. It's no wonder the likes of Nigel Slater have picked up on this new talent in food."

Adjonyoh said: "Bringing Ghanaian cuisine to a mainstream audience is what I'm passionate about and what has driven my supper clubs and pop-ups and street food activity for the past 5 years - the opportunity provided by Octopus Publishing to put out a cookbook which highlights this great food and culture was an opportunity beyond belief and I'm incredibly excited to be working with a team which shares this passion and wants to be part of the African food revolution."

The title will be published as a £25 hardback in April 2017.
