Hutchinson has appointed publicity director Emma Mitchell to the additional role of associate editorial director.
Mitchell has worked at Random House for eleven years, stepping into the Hutchinson publicity director role six years ago. She has worked with authors such as Robert Harris, Sebastian Faulks, Ruth Rendell and A N Wilson.
Mitchell said: "In my role as publicity director for Hutchinson I am privileged to work with a group of authors I greatly admire and I'm honoured and delighted to be given the opportunity to commission new talent to sit alongside them on such an illustrious list."
Caroline Gascoigne, publishing director at Hutchinson, said: "I know Emma will bring the same judgment and creative flair to acquiring books that she has always brought to her publicity work, and I'm delighted that she will be combining the two roles."
Mitchell will continue to report to Charlotte Bush, Cornerstone publicity director, in her publicity role, with Bush recruiting a part-time publicist to join the team.
