Hardie Grant Books has announced a series of promotions in its UK team, including Kajal Mistry's elevation to publisher and Eve Marleau's move to commissioning editor.
Previously a senior commissioning editor, Mistry's work has included securing some of the companies bestselling titles, such as Pasta Grannies by Vicky Bennison, and Stephanie Yeboah's upcoming Fattily Ever After. She said: “I feel very fortunate to be taking on such a brilliantly dynamic and innovative list at Hardie Grant, and I am immensely proud of what we have achieved already. I hope to not only continue to build on the list’s successes but to also push things forward with some fresh new, exciting ideas.”
Marleau will be working closely with Mistry and continue to expand their lists in the areas of gardening, self-help and design. Commenting on the promotion, she said: "I’ve loved every moment of my time at Hardie Grant, and am really thrilled to be taking on the challenge of this role. Our list is vibrant, visually impactful and engaging, and I’m looking forward to being part of its exciting future.”
Stephen King, m.d., said: “I am delighted that Kajal is stepping into this role. We could not be in better hands with her powerful combination of creativity, taste and an eye for commercial opportunities. Similarly, Eve has proven herself to be one of the best commissioners around with an exceptionally bright future. This gives us the perfect team to continue building on our success.”
