Milton leaves Orion

Orion General m.d. Lisa Milton has officially left the company.

Earlier this year, Orion Publishing Group’s parent company Hachette UK announced major changes in senior management at the publisher.

Orion c.e.o. David Young will retire at the end of the year, with Little, Brown c.e.o. David Shelley adding Young’s role to his portfolio.

Katie Espiner will join Orion as m.d. from HarperCollins later this year, while Jon Wood, currently deputy group publisher and m.d. of Orion Fiction, will become publisher of the Orion Publishing Group.

The reshuffle did not include a formal role for Milton. Hachette UK said at the time that it had asked Milton to stay on as a consultant, but she has now left the company.

When the changes were announced, Hachette UK c.e.o. Tim Hely Hutchinson said: “Lisa Milton has been a tremendous ambassador for Orion, standing behind many of the company’s achievements of the past 12 years.  I am enormously grateful to her for the significant role she has played in the development of the company and for all her passionate enthusiasm and peerless management.”
