Rachel Mills has been promoted to international business director at Peters Fraser & Dunlop literary agents (PFD).
Mills previously headed up PFD’s foreign rights department and she received the prize for Rights Professional of the Year at The Bookseller Industry Awards earlier this year.
Whilst continuing to oversee the management of international rights and expanding her own list of clients, she will now also focus on strategy and building brands internationally across all media.
PFD’s c.e.o Caroline Michel said: “Rachel, who won Rights Professional of the Year at the Bookseller Awards this year, has with her team, led a 300% growth in our international rights business. The opportunities being presented in the international market now for our authors merit serious consideration, strategy and delivery… and Rachel is just the person to spearhead these new opportunities”
Other promotions at PFD see Alexandra Cliff promoted to senior rights agent, taking on new territories and management responsibilities within the International Rights team, and Marilia Savvides promoted to international rights agent. As well as taking on new territories, Savvides is also building her own list with a focus on sci-fi, horror, speculative fiction and popular psychology. The International Rights team continues to be supported by Rebecca Wearmouth.
