Mills and Boon is embracing the e-book revolution with the conversion of 200 of its books to e-book format.
The downloads on the Mills and Boon website went live on Friday and are also on sale at Waterstones and WH Smiths. The publisher will now convert 70 of its titles a month in an attempt to have as many of its books as possible available as e-books. The publisher is offering three e-books for two as part of its launch offer, with individual titles priced at £6.99.
"We're looking at the types of series that sell really well," said Tim Cooper, director of direct and digital marketing at Mills and Boon. "We're adding the [erotic] Spice series to our site as well as the [supernatural] Nocturne series coming soon."
Cooper said the publisher was slightly unsure of the new medium, as "e-book publishing in the UK is still in it's infancy - it's a little bit of a finger in the air as we're not sure what to expect."
However he said, "I can see the market growing. Harlequin [Mills and Boon's Canadian parent company] has been selling e-books for two years and it has grown month upon month."
