Millionaire Rausing to let Granta Books loose

<p>Granta Books will have its moratorium on new acquisitions lifted in November, when philanthropist Sigrid Rausing takes control of the publisher.</p><p>Rausing told The Bookseller that there were no plans to merge Granta Books with Portobello Books, the operation she launched earlier this year with Philip Gwyn Jones.</p><p>"We're still working out the relationship between Granta and Portobello--but we want to keep them apart as entities," she said.</p><p>Granta may join the independent sales alliance under Faber in the UK, where it is currently distributed by Signature.
