Michael Joseph’s Louise Jones is to return to Ebury as creative and communications director to oversee the marketing and publicity across the publisher’s new hub structure.
Jones will leave her post as marketing director to start her new role from 1st October where she will oversee publicity and marketing teams across four new publishing hubs: Smart, Entertainment, Self and Lifestyle/BBC. Jones was at Ebury from 2010 to 2015, running campaigns for authors including Caitlin Moran, Guy Martin and Harry Rednapp.
The publisher announced a marketing strategy restructure in June, alongside the departures of director of publicity and media relations Sarah Bennie and marketing director Riley Diana Riley. Both left Ebury at the end of June to set up their own marketing firms.
Ebury m.d. Joel Rickett said: “This was an incredibly competitive process, but Louise was the standout choice for her strategic, audience-focused approach, her track record of helping to create bestsellers, and her thoughtful, ambitious approach to leadership. She rejoins Ebury at the perfect moment, with the hubs starting to bed in, and with a talented team already delivering strong campaigns. Her brief is to ensure the hubs thrive, inject energy and ideas, shape our overall creative and communications strategy, and help us grow.”
Jones added: “I’m thrilled to be returning to Ebury at such an exciting and dynamic time. I’ve always been impressed by the quality of the publishing and I look forward to helping to grow and develop the teams in the newly-created hubs.”
Jones previously left Ebury in 2015 for Transworld before joining Michael Joseph as marketing director, where she led brand work for authors including Liane Moriarty and JoJo Moyes.
