Michael Joseph, PRH strong in run-up to Christmas

Penguin imprint Michael Joseph’s Ladybird parodies had another strong week in the final days before Christmas, while the Penguin Random House group dominated the top of the charts.

For the second week in a row, How it Works: The Husband (Michael Joseph) retained the top spot, after securing the Official Christmas number one a week ago. It sold 57,068 copies for £325,815, according to Nielsen BookScan’s Total Consumer Market. This was a 7.8% increase in volume on the week before, which is not surprising given that last week included the last five shopping days before Christmas.
