Michael Joseph has appointed Ione Walder, commissioning editor at Pavilion, to be its new cookery commissioning editor.
Walder starts on 14th November, replacing Lindsey Evans who left Michael Joseph to launch a new lifestyle imprint with Headline in August.
Walder has edited and published a wide range of authors including Gordon Ramsay, Lorraine Pascale, James Martin, Innocent Drinks, the Hummingbird Bakery, Yo Sushi, Levi Roots and LEON founder Allegra McEvedy. She joined Pavilion in April 2016 and was previously non-fiction editor at Quercus. Before that Walder was project editor at HarperCollins.
Daniel Bunyard, publishing director and head of non-fiction at Michael Joseph, said: “Ione will be a brilliant addition to the team. Her experience, passion for the area and warm personality will make her a huge hit with authors and I’m looking forward to seeing her take the list in new directions.”

The Michael Joseph cookery list includes authors such as Elizabeth David, Claudia Roden, Nigel Slater, Paul Hollywood, Jack Monroe, Nadiya Hussain, Amelia Freer and Jamie Oliver.
