Michael Joseph acquires Stacey Solomon

Michael Joseph has acquired rights in "X Factor" finalist and "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!" queen Stacey Solomon's autobiography.

Katy Follain, Michael Joseph non-fiction publisher bought British Commonwealth including Canada, serial, audio and e-book rights through Modest! Management.

Follain said: "Tell-it-like-it-is Stacey has the common touch in volumes. She appeals to hoards of young women who identify with her. She's also a very good role model, having shown that she's not all about false eyelashes and It-bags. She has worked hard for a better life, and the result is a fascinating read by a modern-day heroine who has remained true to her working class roots."

Solomon first became known as a contestant on "The X Factor" in 2009, and went on to win "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!" in 2010. The book will cover Stacey's parents' divorce, her accidental pregnancy and her "incapability to function" after her son Zac was born.

Solomon said: "I am very proud to be given the opportunity to tell my story and share it with everyone . . . It will be great for people to see the real me, the happy me, and I hope my book inspires others to fulfill their dreams."

The book, Stacey: My Story, will be published in hardback on 12th May.
