Menendez joins WHS as books director

Former Tesco category director Lucy Menendez has been hired as the new business unit director of books at WH Smith.

Menendez replaces Michael Neil, who left the retailer in April after just over a year at the company.

Menendez, who began her retail career as a bookseller at Waterstoners before moving to Tesco to run various non-food categories including Toys & Stationery and the Health & Wellbeing category, will take up her post next Monday 16th November.

She will report to Phil McNally, commercial director of WH Smith High Street.
