Actress and author Emma Kennedy will interview Clare Balding, Mel Giedroyc and Katy Brand for upcoming episodes of her Facebook Live Bookclub.
‘Emma Kennedy’s Bookshelf’ sees her pick a book each month and interview the author over a live Q&A with readers participating through Facebook and Twitter, sending in their questions via @EKBookshelf on Facebook and @EKBookshelf on Twitter.
Confirmed guests for 2021 include Balding later this month to talk about Heroic Animals (John Murray) and Katy Brand in March, featuring I Carried a Watermelon (HQ). In April a special episode to mark the launch of Kennedy’s own book The Never-Ending Summer (Cornerstone) will see Giedroyc interview Kennedy, with Giedroyc’s debut novel The Best Things (Headline) also discussed. Shobna Gulati will feature as a guest in May to talk about Remember Me (Cassell). Commentator and author Andrew Cotter will discuss Olive, Mabel and Me (Black & White) in June while Anita Rani will discuss The Right Sort of Girl (Blink) in July.
Past guests include Dawn French, Ruby Wax and Janet Ellis while the videos have received 4,400 combined views online according to Penguin Random House. 'Emma Kennedy's Bookshelf' first launched in August 2020.
Kennedy is an author, TV writer, actress and presenter based in Surrey. She has written 10 books including both adult and children’s titles. She wrote the Wilma Tenderfoot series for children and has also adapted her memoir The Tent the Bucket and Me (Ebury) for the BBC, renamed "The Kennedys”. She has appeared in many award-winning comedies including “Goodness Gracious Me”, “People Like Us” and “Miranda”.
