Andy McNab, Rolf Harris and Peter James are among the authors lined up to write Quick Reads for next year's campaign, the fifth anniversary of the initiative.
The Quick Reads will be backed with new designs and marketing, with the series to be rebranded as "short, sharp shots of entertainment".
The 10 titles will all be available as downloads from the Quick Reads website. The books will be priced at £1.99 and will be published on World Book Day, 4th March 2010. The price for the downloadable versions has not yet been set. A key backlist title will be made available free, for a limited period, as part of the launch promotion.
Chair of Quick Reads Dame Gail Rebuck said: "The publishing industry should be extremely proud of Quick Reads' achievements and impact over the past five years. Quick Reads has not only transformed the lives of thousands of people by improving their confidence, skills and self-esteem but also by helping them discover the joys of reading.
"It is vital that as an industry we continue to support Quick Reads and encourage our readers of the future."
The organisers added that there was "increasing trade support" from Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's, W H Smith, Waterstone's, Borders, Easons, Dubray Books, Hughes & Hughes, Amazon, independents, wholesalers, and library suppliers.
