Macmillan Children’s Books is launching a virtual festival featuring an array of authors and illustrators whose books are out this autumn.
Virtually Together with Macmillan Children’s Books will feature events around a selection of titles from its picture book, middle-grade and YA list.
Authors taking part include Baroness Floella Benjamin, M G Leonard and Sam Sedgman, Chris Riddell, Emily Gravett, David Olusoga, Catherine Rayner, Allie Esiri and Nikita Gill.
Events will start from 16th September and run throughout October, announced via Macmillan Children’s Books social media accounts. They will include drawalongs, storytelling, poetry readings and Q&As and will be available to watch online via digital and social media platforms..
Belinda Ioni Rasmussen, publisher at Macmillan Children’s Books, said: “After the success of Pan Macmillan’s Virtually Together tour earlier this year, we’re delighted to launch a digital festival dedicated to the incredible authors and illustrators we publish here at Macmillan Children’s Books.
“Autumn is usually a very busy season of events for us, but in the current climate this has been hugely reduced. The beauty of a virtual event is that it can be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home, so is accessible to everyone. We hope families all over the world will be able to tune in and enjoy our authors as much as we do.”
Pan Macmillan’s Virtually Together tour first launched in May 2020 and featured authors and illustrators from all the publishing house’s imprints including Bluebird, Pan, Picador and Macmillan Children’s Books.
