Author and doctor Max Pemberton is working with illustrator Chris Madden on a children’s book for Hachette Children’s Group.
The Marvellous Adventure of Being Human, which will publish this August on the Wren & Rook imprint, will allow readers to ‘shrink down’ and travel through their own anatomy, as well as learn how to keep their bodies healthy.
The deal for world rights was brokered between Debbie Foy, publishing director of Wren & Rook, with Heather Holden-Brown of HHB Agency and Mark Wilson of Eye Candy Illustration.
Foy said: “Dr Max’s debut children’s book Being Human takes young readers on an immersive, eye-popping, gut-churning journey through the human body. Brilliantly brought to life by graphic designer Chris Madden, children will learn important tips and facts about exercise, eating well and looking after your mental health.”
Pemberton is a doctor and journalist and writers in the Daily Mail, Reader’s Digest and the Spectator. He has also written four books for adults.
