The Folio Society’s customer relationship manager Matt Button has left the company.
M.d. Toby Hartwell said that Button, who departed earlier this week, would be replaced “in due course” but declined to comment further.
Late last year the company went through its "biggest change in history", shifting its business model to concentrate more on direct sales through its website and new retail partnerships with Waterstones, Hatchards, Harrods and Selfridges, fuelled by social media activity. The move involved the closure of its US office and senior staff redundancies.
Hartwell said Button had left Folio “having led the change in our marketing strategy that is now the basis for our future business model”.
Folio’s recent Christmas campaign, which included a new catalogue and a Beautiful Books campaign via Twitter and Facebook, “exceeded budget”, Hartwell told The Bookseller.
