The Mainstreet Trading Company has won a competition to feature in a new book in the Busy Books series published by Campbell Books.
The bookshop will appear in Busy Bookshop, to be published in June 2014. The Mainstreet Trading Company's shop front and interior will be immortalised by illustrator Marion Billet, and artwork from the book will be presented to Mainstreet as part of their prize.
The competition saw independent bookshops tweeting, in 140 characters, why their bookshop has a claim to be the best in the UK. Mainstreat Trading Company managed to include plenty of Macmillan Children's Book titles into its tweet: "One day AUNT AMELIA took JULIA to the DEEP DARK book burrows @Mainstreet, by LUNCHTIME she had GONE WILD for books."
Sarah Clark, sales director for Macmillan Children's Books, described Mainstreet as "a brilliant and innovative bookseller".
Mainstreet's Rosamund de la Hey said winning the competition was "a great boost for the team", adding: "We're all really looking forward to seeing the finished book next year."
