Mainstream has acquired world rights for Mark Ramprakash's first autobiography. The book, provisionally titled Strictly Me: My Life Under the Spotlight, was bought for a "high five-figure sum" by Iain MacGregor at Mainstream from Nick Canham at MCP Entertainment.
The England-capped cricketer traded batting for the ballroom when he was crowned champion on "Strictly Come Dancing" in 2006. Mainstream has said that the book will be "equally as riveting" as the 2008 winner of the William Hill Sports Book of the Year, Marcus Trescothick's Coming Back to Me.
Vision Sport Publishing released Four More Weeks: Diary of a Stand In Captain--a title by Ramprakash and Justyn Barnes in 2005.
