Karen Maine is leaving Daunt Books Publishing after four-and-a-half years.
Maine, co-publisher at the imprint, is planning to focus on her filmmaking career. She described her departure is "bittersweet".
"Daunt has been a tremendous employer and all my colleagues have been beyond wonderful", said Maine. "Working for Daunt has exceeded all my expectations and has offered invaluable opportunities, one of which was working alongside the brilliant [co-publisher] Željka Marošević. It’s hugely comforting to know that the authors I have so loved working with for all these years will be left in her capable hands."
Rose Cole of Daunt Books said of Maine’s departure: “We are extremely sad to see Karen leave us after four successful years of developing and building our publishing program but wish her all the best with her exciting new endeavours.”
Daunt Books has said it will be appointing a replacement in "due course".
