Macmillan relaunches online teen platform

Macmillan celebrated the relaunch of MyKindaBook.com, an online platform for teen and YA books, with an “in conversation” event with Leila Sales and Sarra Manning this week (28th November).

Manning, also a YA author of books, including the Diary of a Crush trilogy, asked Sales about the inspiration about her latest novel, This Song Will SaveYour Life (Macmillan).

The book tells the story of suicidal Elise Dembowski, who discovers love and friendship after finding a passion for DJing. Manning and Sales talked about some of their favourite bands, including Belle and Sebastian (Manning) and Counting Crows (Sales), and whether music can really save your life.

The conversation was streamed live on the MKB website.

The MKB site is an online book platform for teen readers that publishes information, such as reviews, about YA books. It allows members to create their own content, such as blog posts, and attend publishing workshops or events.

This Song Will Save Your Life
is the third book from Sales, who is also an editor with Penguin in the US.
