Four Macmillan Children’s Books (MCB) authors are acting as writing ambassadors for teen Movellas users as part of a six-month partnership between the publisher and the story-sharing website.

Authors Julia Bell (The Dark Light), E.K. Johnston (A Thousand Nights), Rainbow Rowell (Carry On) and Frances Hardinge (The Lie Tree) will create original content for the site, as well as offer writing tips and advice. Movellas will also use the authors’ books to create writing challenges for its users.

Georgia Traher, community manager at Movellas, said the users value being in close contact with authors and “this project puts the author and their writing into the spotlight”.

“With these great authors acting as writing ambassadors to Movellas, teenagers around the world have a real and exciting chance to see into the life of an author like never before,” she said.

MCB is also offering Movellas users a first look at a digital sampler featuring chapter extracts from nine new titles publishing in the second half of 2015, including Carry On by Rainbow Rowell (publishing in October 2015).

The sampler will officially launch at YALC on the 17th July.
