The Times and The Sunday Times Cheltenham Literature Festival has appointed Loraine Evans as its new children and young people’s programme manager.

Evans said: “Cheltenham Literature Festival is such a prestigious cultural organisation and I’m very honoured to be joining the team, especially at the helm of its celebrated programme for children and young people. It’s an exciting time for literature and I’m looking forward to shaping Cheltenham’s future festival experience for young people.”

Louise Emerson, chief executive of the festival, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Loraine to the Festival team. We are looking forward to enhancing and extending the Literature Festival’s programme for children and young people in 2016.”
