Lonely Planet partners with Scribd

E-book subscription service Scribd has partnered with Lonely Planet to make all the publisher’s travel guides available to subscribers.

The partnership, which will make hundreds of Lonely Planet’s guidebooks available to Scribd users, launches Scribd’s new travel category.

Trip Adler, c.e.o. and co-founder of Scribd, said travel was “the perfect category for e-books” as they lightened “a traveller’s load while on the go”.

Darren O’Connell, product director of guidebooks and e-books for Lonely Planet, said: “We are thrilled to work with Scribd, as part of our brand commitment is to make our award-winning content available to consumers in whatever format best suits their needs.”

Scribd has also announced a new feature – the ability to bookmark pages within a book, “allowing travellers easy access to bookmarked content”.

All Lonely Planet guidebooks are available immediately at Lonely Planet’s Scribd profile.
