Lonely Planet is launching two new e-book series, one offering guidance to the enjoyable experiences to be had in Britain, and a second series focused on different regions in Britain and Ireland.
Lonely Planet said the "experience" guides were aimed at people looking for inspiration on what to do with their time off, short break or staycation.
The first, Recession-busting Britain: Best Free Experiences, is a guide to free sights and activities around the country. It will be free to download but the other guides—Tasty Britain, Ye Olde Britain, Culture Vulture Britain, Mini Britain—are listed from £2.99.
Lonely Planet commissioning editor, Clifton Wilkinson, said: "The spotlight this summer is on the Olympics and Jubilee, but let's not forget everything else that Britain has to offer. There is a wealth of experiences to be had in the country, and we hope that our new series will help Brits and international visitors to discover them."
Also launching this week are 19 short-format e-books offering chapters on regions in Britain and Ireland. More will follow in the coming weeks, with 49 set to be available in total.
