Nickelodeon in the US has optioned Paul Gamble’s The Ministry of Strange, Unusual and Impossible Things, published by Irish independent Little Island, for television.
Nickelodeon negotiated the deal with Dana Spector at Paradigm, who was acting on behalf of Gemma Cooper at The Bent Agency. Head First Productions is on board to produce.
Cooper said: "With its pirates, dinosaurs and raft of bonkers characters, this book always felt ripe for adaptation. We are thrilled that Nickelodeon have come on board and can’t wait to see what they come up with.”
The Ministry of Strange, Unusual and Impossible Things was the winner of the 2017 of the 2017 Eilís Dillon Award for a First Children's Book, and was shortlisted for the 2017 Teach Primary New Fiction Awards and Great Reads Awards 2017.
