Sunday Times bestseller Lisa Jewell has signed a new two-book deal with Century.
Century and Arrow Books publisher Selina Walker acquired UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, to two new novels from Jonny Geller at Curtis Brown. The first book will be published by Century in 2021.
Jewell said: "It's almost exactly 10 years to the day since Arrow books bought and published my seventh novel, The Truth About Melody Browne, and the journey I've been on since that first publication has been momentous; I've moved into the thriller genre and been accepted into the crime community, I've had my first Richard & Judy book club pick (and a second and a third), I've had my first number one Sunday Times chart position (and a second and a third!). Each publication has brought with it more and more good news and more and more readers and I owe all of this to the most incredible publishing team in the business. I could not be happier or more excited to have signed a contract for another two books with the remarkable Selina Walker and her team and cannot wait to see where we can go to next!"
"Jewell’s writing sits at the very top end of psychological suspense," said Walker. "Her plots are dark and twisty yet always believable and never contrived, and they are always wrapped up in an irreplaceable Lisa Jewell page-turning narrative and are driven by a story so good you practically inhale it. I am thrilled that we will be continuing to work together and can’t wait to get started on her new novel."
Jewell has sold 2.24 million books for £12.3m in total (since 1998) in the UK through the BookScan Total Consumer Market, with Then She was Gone (Arrow) her bestseller on 212,201 copies sold in paperback.
