Hodder & Stoughton has acquired two novels by suspense novelist Lisa Jackson, and will move the author to its Mulholland imprint.
Mulholland editor Ruth Tross did the deal for British Commonwealth rights excluding Canada with Dorie Simmonds on behalf of Kensington Books.
Jackson has previously been published by Headline and Hodder Paperback.
Tross said: “I’m delighted to be building on Hodder’s years of achievement with Lisa Jackson and to be making her a star of the Mulholland list. She’s a number one bestseller in the States, and as the success of Karen Rose and Karin Slaughter shows, there’s a huge appetite for the thrilling suspense with a romantic edge that Lisa is so good at.”
The first book in the deal, Deserves to Die, is part of the Alvarez/Pescoli series, and will be released in August 2014.
Standalone thriller Close to Home will be released in hardback in September.
