Link joins up with Canongate

Canongate has acquired Get in Trouble, a new collection of short stories from American author Kelly Link.

Publishing director Francis Bickmore bought UK and Commonwealth rights excluding Australia and New Zealand, in a pre-empt from Arabella Stein at Abner Stein, on behalf of Taryn Fagerness. North American rights were sold to Random House US.

Link has written three other collections of short stories, and won awards including Nebulas, a Hugo and a World Fantasy Award. Bickmore said: "Kelly Link is the George Saunders of the fairy tale. These are Kelly’s finest stories yet and the scale of the new US commitment demonstrates how this is the book that will take Kelly to the stratospheric audience she deserves."
